Welcome to the first installment of DEPOSITIONS, our indepth discussions with filmmakers, producers, and industry professionals. In this episode, Judges David Johnson and Cynthia Boris interrogate director/producer Melissa Balin on the movie FREEZERBURN, her directorial debut. Having grown up in a showbiz family, most would assume it would be easy to get a feature made. Guess again! To finance the picture, she begged and borrowed, called on family and friends, coerced her brother to refinance his house, and was the first producer to sell the distribution rights to a film on eBay. The result is a star-studded indie muder mystery on the set of a classic television series reunion show -- and a hilarious interview in which Judge Johnson finds himself in the hot seat.
